This section shows the work I did as a Junior Graphic Designer at Boston Realty Advisors (BRA), a full-service commercial real estate brokerage and consulting firm. This includes tenant and landlord representation, investment sales, property consulting as well as financing activities. As the largest Boston-based boutique firm, our small marketing team of 4 kept busy with all in house materials, agent requests, client properties, etc.
Throughout my time here, my main focus was working with the Advisors Living New Development team. Advisors Living (AL), the residential brokerage division of Boston Realty Advisors, is one of the fastest-growing real estate firms in Massachusetts now with 14 offices throughout the Greater Boston area with $3 Billion+ in Real Estate Sales. I designed and created materials for 11 new development properties in and around the Boston area. Each property had uniquely designed materials, specific to the branding. I also worked with capital markets, downtown and urban office leasing, and the retail team.
My tasks included graphic creation, page layout, and file preparation for digital/print including ads, presentations, postcards, social media posts, HTML emails, landing pages, logos, infographics, etc. I contributed to marketing team projects across a variety of print/digital marketing and promotional materials, including website content, email marketing campaigns, advertisements, etc. I developed and communicated concepts and gave design direction for client projects as well.

One of my many tasks was to create new ads/updated old ones for The Boston Globe. Multiple New Development properties had digital and print features in the newspaper. I would update digital and print ads with current information, resize, update branding, and create new layouts as well. Some properties were newer and didn’t have previous advertisements therefore my job was to design and resize all ads while making sure branding was up to date.

Above are various examples of Lytho Templates created for Advisors Living. Lytho is a site that agents use to edit templates of social tiles. These social tiles are made in InDesign, then linked and downloaded into Lytho. An agent can select a design that is best suited for the social post they need and adjust the type and photos on the tile. The basic info and design such as colors and company logo is locked but the title, photos, and details on the tile is created to be changed by the agent. Then the agent can download the tile and post it to social media.
Below are some examples of social tiles I designed for various social media accounts for Boston Realty Advisors and all Advisors Living offices. Some of these posts include holidays, events, statistics, updates on properties, etc.
I was challenged with the task of creating a logo system for an agent at Advisors Living. Most of the agents have personal logos that were created by our marketing team and Liyuan Bai, Vice President was looking for some personalization to use for her individual and listing needs. It was a task with complete flexibility, as the agent had no prior design requests.
This section shows the logo exploration for Liyuan Bai. Growing up in China and earning her Ph.D. in Biological Engineering, I incorporated some of those aspects to be represented in her logo. I created 9 different logo variations, some of which have ornamental characteristics to represent the curves of dragons and brush strokes used in Chinese culture. The other variations are more structured, simplistic, and bold to represent her background in Biological Engineering.
The final logo versions for Liyuan Bai are shown above. Her final decision was on the clean and simple logo version that is straightforward and easy to use. The first version is her two initials and the second version has her name written out underneath the two initials. She also was interested in a silver and gold variation therefore, I created two variations with a textured silver and gold color.
I worked with the Retail Team and Downtown & Urban Office Team to create brochures for their listings. This included updating, modifying, and maintaining existing brochures. Other aspects included photo & video manipulation and editing. I also designed new listings which included continuous updating as spaces were leased, details changed, and design assets needed to be modified. Below is a mocked up example of a brochure that I worked on for an office leasing at 19 Kingston Street.
Real estate agents need LOTS of marketing materials to help them advertise, grow, and connect. Some of the tasks included postcards, posters, business cards, presentations, etc. Below are some examples of marketing materials created for various agents at Advisors Living.
